Cpu 100% usage

I am using win2k pro w sp4.
Whenever i do printing, let say 40 pages..my cpu usage goes up to 100%.. and my pc runs very slow..

But why Win98se dont have this problem??

Any solution??

try changing the spool priorty setting...a walk through can be found here:

And i am using Epson LQ-2170.. and i have tried using Epson LQ-300 to print, no problem...

Is it the driver problem or what?? and for both mentioned above printer driver, is Win2k built in...and recommendation??

And i cant even find any updates for this Epson LQ-2170 in www.epson.com

Maybe a different driver would perform better. I had a postscript driver do this once and fixed it by installing the PCL5 driver instead.

how much free hard disk space? when was last time you defragged? what do you think it is? how much ram?

Hi

As above, make sure you have plenty of disk space available, otherwise the spooler will have trouble and eventually you will not be able to print at all. Also, as above, it was not made clear, but you should make sure you have the *latest* drivers available - download them from the printer manufacturer's web site.

Also, check the print settings in your driver, or even uninstall and then reinstall the driver.
