I have a dell with Windows XP. It would freeze up during boot up and nothing I did rectified it. I reloaded Windows XP, it worked for a bit, I moved the computer to another room and turned it on – no connection to monitor. I checked all connections and reseated all memory and cards. Nothing. I installed a new graphics card – success! it worked. for a few minutes. I tried to install a new ethernet card because the computer didn’t seem to be recognizing the old one, ran the installation program and it still didn’t recognize the newly installed hardware. uninstalled it, reinstalled it, now the monitor is once again showing no signal from the computer. when i turn on the computer i get 4 beeps, a pause then 2 more beeps. any suggestions?
