CPU Fan doesnt work on Asus A7V133

by luds . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

…this is driving me bonkers…
HW:

MoBo: Asus A7V133
CPU: Athlon 1G
Mem: 256 MB 133
300W Powersupply in server case

I havent connected anything yet to the mobo.
Slapped on the Fan, connected it to “CPU FAN” connector on the mobo.

Switched sys on just to see if it works…
mobo does one beep (according to the manual meaning “no errors found during boot”), BUT
the Mobo Fan doesnt start. Neither does the
Chipset fan, that comes with the mobo.

The CPU gets hot, the AGP slot gets power (had a gfx card with fan on in it)

I havent checked it with a monitor , as I dont want to run the system without CPU or Chipset cooling.

First I thought perhaps a dip or jumper has to be set, but the switches/jumpers are in default, meaning jumper less mode.

Tried another Athlon 1G… same effect.
Tried an Asus A7V mobo… same effect.
The fans are standard 12V for Athlon (Titan)

I’ve been working the whole day on some other stuff , so am probably missing something obvious… hope someone can help me.

thanks a mill
