cpu fan

cpu fan was dying, replaced it, then turned computer on and fan and computer would start then computer would shut down within seconds of starting???? Talk to someone about having to set bios??? need help

clean off the old paste or pad and reapply a thin coat of thermal paste?
Even if you did, double check it and the retaining clips/screws.

Sounds like a heat-related problem ...

Did you replace the CPU fan with an identical one or just one that looked the same?

Have you ascertained that the fan is turning in the correct direction?

Did you clean out the heatsink while you had the CPU fan removed?

Assuming this PC is a tower/desktop, you may have knocked some other internal component while renewing the CPU fan.

Without detailed specs of your computer, this is just all assumption.
