    Cpu temps explosive

So I’ve got an old rig I was gifted, put a new gpu but all the other parts are 2012 relics.
MB is a Sabertooth 990fx r1.0 (latest bios but side note bios shows as blown up and I can’t see the bottom right corner, plus rainbowed lines in some bios settings pages)
Gpu is a red devil rx570
    Cooler master 1200w psu
And an amd fx8150 cooled with a h100 with x2 push on a top mounted rad.
My issue is lately, it’s started booting up, then the cpu temp instantly spikes to it’s thermal limit and the system shuts off. Initially I figured bad pump, but I feel the vibration of the pump/fluid moving in the hose. So I tested paste, and just put a fresh kidney beans of paste and reinstalled the block. Exact same issue. Any ideas/suggestions folks?
