    Cpu upgrade for power mac g4?

    Tags: 

    Want to put two cpus in but don’t know if it has two sockets for them. I don’t currently have the g4 i just thought it might be a fun project.

          Processor upgrades for G4

          The only model G4 that had two processors was the “Gigabit Ethernet” version.
          While the LowEndMac website is still available, its contents have not been updated for over 10 years.
          Virtually none of the links are valid, which means your source for processors is extremely limited, if not non-existent.
          I upgraded a G4 Cube, many years ago – I still have it and it still works too. I fear your “fun project” could be the source of much frustration in the search for compatible processors.
