howdy! i picked up an external usb 7200.7 120 gig hard drive model ST3120026A from walmart a couple years back, and it isn’t being recognized by either of my laptops or my desktop. it beeps and starts up, but it isn’t recognized as anything but a “usb device”. the power light comes on, but the data can light doesn’t come on. i have some semi-important stuff on it (mostly music and old work files), but am hesitant to send it off to a data recovery place and pay $500-$1500 bucks. I moved the power connector and the usb connector around, and the lights go off and on, but i can’t hold it in any way that it’s recognized as what it is. I have no clue. Any advice would help. Thanks in advance.
