Crazy password generator....

By geekchic ·
We use a program that if you "forget" your password, you can apply for a "temporary" one by just selecting "forgot my password". A new "user friendly" one is then sent to your email account so you can log back in and set a new one of your choice. Standard stuff right?? Four letters, two numbers and three letters....

Well, last week the thing generated a very amusing temporary password. The person that got the password called me, but they were laughing so hard I couldn't understand them. It took a few minutes but I finally found out that their new temporary password was "tiny45dic". Now maybe it is just me but that is a pretty weird "user friendly" password!!!!

Anyone else ever experience a generated password like this one???

How does that work?

Let's see. A user is not logged in or their workstation is password locked. How do they apply for the temporary password without access to their workstation? Once that is done how to they access their email without knowing their password?
