creat a file

Hi
i work with Unix Machine Hp Unix 11.0
i create two users the have the same group
when i login to the x user and from the home folder i do touch /appm_tech/lib/list i get the massage cannot create .
this path belong to user y and when i do the opposite it's the same massage what i need to do to success the command.

You must have write permissions on the folder you want to create a file. If not change the permisions on the folder with chown.

It is definitely a "permissions" thing, as you can tell by the response the system is giving you.

Do an "ls" on this DIRECTORY. The most open permissions are "rwxrwxrwx". You can still have other users create files with "rw-rw-rw-". In general, you will find this or "rw-rw-r--" most useful.

You need to know the numeric versions of these permissions to change them in Unix, using the CHMOD command. As the owner of the file/directory (or as "super-user") use one of these:

chmod 777
(result: rwxrwxrwx)
chmod 666
result: rw-rw-rw-)
chmod: 664
(result: rw-rw-r--)

And so on.
