Create a double-gradation background

By MaryWeilage Editor ·
This week's Design and Usability Tactics newsletter details how to create a double-gradation background.

In addition to gradations along both sides of a Web page, this technique could be used to add other kinds of border treatments to the sides or to the top and bottom of a page. Can you think of other variations of this technique? What browser-compatibility issues might arise out of adapting the technique to those variations?

Yes... but is it useful???

Is this really useful for accessibility? Or is it just for the fun of it? Seems to be just for fluff. Double gradation isn't really necessary. It may look great but c'mon, now. Is it really necessary for the function of a website?
