I came across a conundrum that Windows XP will not allow a folder to be created with the name “con”. I tried it myself and it is true, any variation of that sequence of characters will not be accepted, the name simply reverts to the default “New folder”. Why is this so and are there any other sequence of characters (other than the usual illegal characters) that this happens with?
