I would like to get information on how to determine the life of equipment. I recently came into this position and I am expected to make recommendations and budget for equipment replacement and upgrade. Currently we are in the second year of a threeyear lease for equipment. We purchased 30 new Compaq computers, 2 HP 4000 printers and 2 Xerox Document Centre 332. In addition we have miscellaneous HP local printers and Okidata dot matris printers. Where can I find help on the useful life of computers, printers, etc. and then determine a schedule for either complete replacement on a regular basis or a kind of selective upgrade process. This is all new to me.
