Creating Active Directory Users using VB

As part of my re-entry into programming I suggested that I write a front end to create new users in active directory using VB.net. Normally we use the copy copy function in AD and copy a user template then add the changes, and I thought I could automate this.
I have worked out most of the other AD bits and pieces but I can’t seem to copy all the AD settings from the template user to the new user. Does anyone have any experience in this area ?
