Creating Backup using Access 97

By raffyplacido ·
I have developed a database in our system, however i have some difficulties in creating a macro or a code to run a backup to backup my database in every two hours? Do I have to make use of the loops? How?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

In VBA there is no way to produce an event every few seconds so you can schedule something on time, however if you have VB installed on your machine you can use the timer control (in access) that comes with VB and set it to backup the database every2 hours.
You can not use loops to do something every few hours.
You can search the internet for a control that is like the timer control from VB and install it on your machine (you will have to install it on any machine you would want it to run).In most cases you dont have to backup a database every two hours its enough to do a backup only daily, to do that you would put code in the open event of the form that runs first (like the switchboard form, or you can put it in the startup property of the database) to backup the database.
If the database is being opened more than ones daily then it will any how be backed up more often then daily.

you can not use loops since when you use a loop the program (in this case access) will not respond until it gets out of the loop, and since what you want to do is run the loop to check the time if it allready passed two hours you are basiclly locking up access.
