Creating MDE File in MS ACCESS???

By m786hasan ·
I know from the Books, that a developer can create MDE file, when one have completed his work to compile and pack database to hide the design and Module code, using Tools menu selecting database utilities and clicking Make MDE file. But in my System this link is inactive. What may be the solution. Do i have to install some toolkit like Foxpro? if so from where i can download it?

Most likely you are using OfficeXP. By default it creates databases in the Office 2000 format, not Office 2002.

If you need to convert your existing / new database to MDB file, you should convert it to Access 2002 format (Tools --> Database Utilities --> Convert Databases --> To Access 2002 File Format). After you do this, you will be offered to save new file. Open this new file and "Convert to MDB File" option will be available.

Good luck,
