Creating Splash Screens

By craigj12 ·
How do you create a Boot-Up Splash Screen to appear during P.O.S.T.? This is to appear instead of the having the memory check, drive detection, etc. to appear on the screen before the operating system splash shows.

This is inherent into the BIOS of each motherboard manufacturer. You can press F1, DEL, F2, CTRL+F10, ... whatever it is to get into the bios. You can change it to a SPLASH SCREEN if it permits. If not, then no, you cannot add your own personal one either.

The feature you refer to is often called quiet or silent boot in BIOS setup.

To create your own screen, you would need to write your own BIOS.

There is a possibility that you could get Unicore to create a custom BIOS for you that would include the image of your choice as the boot screen.

After the BIOS splash screen, there are ways to change the Windows boot screen.

For Windows 2000 and XP, you have to edit a system file.
This can also lead to problems.

Check the homepage of your motherboard manufacturer. If your MB allows to change the Bootup picture they should have a utility to design and implement the new picture.
