Hi
I have an interesting situation here, has been dsocumented somewhat in blog I have on here.
I have searched everywhere I can think of for a tip but haven’t seen one.
This is the question.
The sound chipset in question is a Creative\Ensoniq ES1371 onboard sound.
In Windows is identified as an Ensoniq PCI Audio.
In Linux it is identified as an ES1371 .
In Windows XP Professional as well as Windows 2000 this onboard soundchip can use 4 different drivers, and each has it’s own features.
Currently I am using the Creative SB128 drivers which allows usage of the spatial effects and also allows for tonal control of the sound.
Now in Linux, specifically Alsa well as OSS, I can achieve the spatial effect .
What I can’t seem to find is any sort of driver module that allows for the seperate bass and treble.
The Alsa uses the snd-en1371 module and from hat I have seen I can’t modify it ,or else I missed something.
Has anyone been able to duplicate the Creative bass and treble controls in an Alsa or OSS driver?
