I am using SCO UNIXWARE 7.1.0. When I connect to my ISP, the modem connects but instead of asking foe login and password the screen filles with garbage character and the line disconnects. What should I do?

If first characters of the garbage are "~-^Uppp-~" than everything is OK with your modem (and ISP). Your ISP offers you dedicated PPP connection with, most probably, PAP authentication (or maybe CHAP). You have to know it from your ISP. Than refer to manual about PPP dialout configuration or see UnixWare 7 FAQ.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
