How can I determine the cause of cursor freeze? It happens after I have been running for awhile. It lasts for about a minute then the cursor is free for 30 seconds. When I reboot it goes away.

Think simple. Did you defrag and cleanup your HD? XP does not like a scattered/littered HD. If it still happens, get a PS/2 mouse and plug it in if you have a PS/2 port.
Remember the enemy here - Microsoft and WindowsXP.
