cursor has changed

My friend has win XP, and his cursor that flashes on the screen, was a vertical line and has changed of a small box.
How can he change it back to it’s original shape?

Go to “control panel” (found in start menu) find and locate “mouse” double click “mouse” or highlight “mouse” and press enter. Go to pointers tab, then change the scheme to noe or selet alternative. or change the xp theme in the “display” also found in control panel

I guess I didn’t describe the problem very well.

The problem is when you are typing as I am now, there is a vertical line after the last letter you type. This line has changed to a small box, and we are trying to change it back to the vertical line
