Custom OWA logon screen???

by Joseph Moore In reply to Custom OWA logon screen?? ...

Yes. 3 years ago, I made changes to LOGON.ASP for OWA. I wanted it to have the company's logo, and my own text. So I opened the page in MS FrontPage, and made the changes I wanted. I left the form submission mechanics alone. I only made cosmetic changes (changed the background colour, font type, etc.) I did get it to the way I wanted it, where it looked like other web pages my company used, but still worked for OWA.
So, make a backup copy of LOGON.ASP, then start changing it to what you want it to be.
Sure, this is a cheap way of doing it, but it worked!

Custom OWA logon screen???

my only problem is that our logon isn't on a normal page, when I type /exchange/logon.asp it just goes to a dialog box where the user can type in their user name and password, is there a way you can somehow get that information and automatically logthem in or something???
Also where can you find that *.asp file, I checked in /exchsrvr/exchweb but I couldn't seem to find it anywhere?/

Thanks:)

You are obviously using Exchange 2K, not Exchange 5.5. Exchange 2K does not have a logon.asp screen, it just asks for the user's network login information and takes them directly to their Inbox folder. Are you saying that you want to edit the actual view layouts for the Outlook folders? I believe these are all active server pages, which personally I wouldn't want to fool around with. You might be able to edit the code if you know what you're doing. I think the files are located in the \\exchsrvr\exchweb folder.

Hope this helps!

basically, I don't want to edit the logon box, I just wanted to try and embedd the box onto another page, so I could have other things showing when the user logs in....

Well, in that case, the only way I can see that you could do this w/Exchange 2K and OWA would be to insert another page on your web site before they get to the Exchange login point. IOW, create a web page in your web site that contains the info you want to display first, including a link to our OWA site, and have your users go to that page first instead of going straight to their mailbox. Hope this helps!
