My team and I are in the process of building WindowsXP images for our clients – rolling out to around 100+ machines via RIS – We are configuring the machine with some customisations – but have come across some setting we want to change but can’t seem to find how to change them.
1 – When we image the machine via RIS and have teh default user profile with our premade profile and a new user logs into the machine – they get the correct settings etc, but they also get the default icons for Outlook Express and Remote Assistance, plus the default favourites in IE – how can we stop this?
2 – We are using the new type start menu and have configured it down except we want to be able to have a variable for the users first name from AD -example they currently get say BloggsJ on PC1234 which comes from registry variables %username% on %computername%. What i want to have is the users first name on Machine Name – eg Damon on PC1234.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated
