cvs on Oracle

By avernille ·
Is it possible to configure cvs to store its data directly on a Oracle DB? How?

it may be possible.
why would you want to store it there though?
cvs is a server, designed to keep track of changes to files under it's control
storing it in an oracle ( or any other database ) is slowing the cvs server down.

effectively, you want to store database data from one server in another server?

The purpose of having CVS data into Oracle is to easy the back up process. The cvs structure may reside out of Oracle, being copied into Oracle on a daily basis.

I agree with jaqui....storing CVS data on oracle DB makes no sense at you have any specific requirement/application which needs this....
