Cyber Security Consultant

Hey Guys,

I've recently joined this forum as i am looking at a career in Cyber Security, but am not too sure yet which route to take.
So, my questions are these
- Can you become a Cyber Security consultant etc without a degree or particular qualification? Although CEH for instance would be a good one to have and so on
- What exactly are the different routes i could take in this career?
- Any suggestions on courses and the likes? I've got a course by Nathan House of StationX but not sure if that'll be enough?
- Is it possible to be a freelance consultant/expert in this field rather than work for a company?

Thanks for your help in advance, and any other tips you have i'd be really grateful for

Requirement of a cyber security consultant

A good to place to start is to simply check out job sites or companies in the Cyber Security sector who are recruiting. For example Bridewell Consulting require either the following qualifications such as M.Inst.ISP, CISSP, CISM, CRISC or demonstrable security experience. Therefore, using the example, the answer could be experience only and not necessarily qualifications. I think this following websites can provide you more information regarding the responsibility of a cyber security consultant:
