The home network has an Embarq 660 DSL modem connected to a D Link DI 604 (E1) router that works fine. A Belken wireless router was used for wireless and additional computer Cat 5 connections.
I am replacing the Belken wireless router with a D Link DIR 655 wireless router. The 655 is hooked up the same as the Belken from LAN 4 on the 604 to the Internet port on the 655.
The wireless connection between a laptop and the 655 works fine. The problem is the 655 will not talk to the 604 for any period of time. The 604 DHCP is set to issue dynamic IP addresses when the computer/router is connected. I also tried to issue a static IP address to the 655 with no luck.
The Log for the DIR 655 has the following error “The addressing of the Internet side learnt thru DHCP conflicts with the addressing selected for the LAN side. Internet communications will be disabled until you have changed the LAN side addressing to resolve the problem.”
Any help?
