One of my users has a Dell Optiplex GX1 with 512 MB memory. It has a ZIP drive connected. The user has Windows 95, Office Pro 97, Outlook 2000, Adobe Acrobat, SAS, and Front Page installed. Periodically on an almost daily basis, when the user tries to start Word, the PC freezes. We have re-installed Word and Office. We even configured a new PC for the user. On the new PC, the user was able to use Word without incident for about 3 days then the new PC started acting the same way the old one did.The only way we have been able to overcome the problem is to start Word with the /n or /a switches. This same user had similar problems in the past with two lower level PCs. We have been unable to track the start of the problem to any specific document. Any suggestions?
