Damaged NDS tree

By Ben_AZ ·
We have acquired a new hospital to our system. They are OU=MSMC.O=SHS of the tree. We cannot browse above this level. The Tree Name is SHS_NDS Because the original owner split the tree incorrectly the servers have not been in sync since December of '99 and we do not have any access to the level of the tree. We do not need any of the original objects above the MSMC.SHS level but would like to have back. HELP!!!!

Damaged NDS tree

by timber In reply to Damaged NDS tree

I just went through this. I spent 14 hours on the phone with novell while they were dialed into my pc via pcanywhere. They had to manuely fix the NDS coruption. The tools they use are not available to the general public unfortunatelly. I would go ahead and spend the $300 buck and let novell deal with it before something else happens...

Good Luck

please refer to this article from Novell support:
TID10051168
"Root Partition Deleted"

If that doesn't point you to where you need to go, think about recreating another tree, that is correct, and merging the damaged one with the new one per theinstructions found in the following TID 10011011:
"DSMerge - Merging two trees together"

Hope this helps.
