Damaged Winsock file – How to replace?

by jdep . Updated 25 years, 7 months ago

Machine (Win98 IE5) presents with working modem, browser, and normal data transmission to the web. However there appears to be no receive side activity at all. User recently downloaded some ‘tune your own internet access’ shareware, then when blind panic set in tried to delete the application by dragging it to the recycle bin, the combined effect of which appears to have corrupted the winsock file. Either way it’s a bit of a nightmare!

Q. How can I replace a damaged winsock file.
Win981stE.

Thank you.
