Solving PHP Global variables on SuSE 10.1

by daryoush In reply to Daryoush Ashtari

I could not use some of my web-based applications. I checked the docs
and found out that in the new PHP5 global variables are OFF by default.
I turned them on in the <b>php.ini</b> but they were still off. At last I could solve the problem as follows:</font></p>

<font face="Arial" size="2"><b>1.</b> Login with <font face="Courier" size="2">root</font>.<br />
<b>2.</b> Open the file: <font face="Courier" size="2">/etc/apache2/default-server.conf</font> and add following commands after the <font face="Courier" size="2">DirectoryRoot</font> definition (after ):<br />
</font><br />
<font face="Courier" size="2">php_admin_flag register_global on<br />
php_admin_flag register_long_arrays on</font><br />
<br />
<font face="Arial" size="2">Then issue command:</font><br /><br />

<font face="Courier" size="2">/etc/rc.d/apache2 restart</font><br /><br />

WiFi detection on SuSE 10.1 (Dell Inspiron 6000)

by daryoush In reply to Daryoush Ashtari

When I installed SuSE 10.1 on my Dell Inspiron 6000, it detects everything except the WiFi card. I checked lots of places, downloaded many files and followed their instructions but nothing happened. Finally, I found an RPM (ipw-firmware-7-10.noarch.rpm) package which solved my problem.
