Data CD's I create won't read in a Compu

By fletch ·
I have a HP CDWRITER Plus Model 9300i. I have created many data CD's using Adaptec Easy CD Creator and they work fine in my machine. I tried to give a friend one with data on it but her machine thinks it is an Audio CD and will not open it up to allow her to get data from it. Other machines can read it. Any suggestion's would be helpful. Thanks

There are some CD-ROMs that will not be able to read the data CD that you created. In order for your friend's machine to read it, the machine needs to have a program that will allow the CD-ROM to read the data on the CD. One such program is UDF Reader that came along with my Adaptec Easy CD Creator. If you have that program on the CD creating software, then install the reader on your friend's computer. Then the machine should be able to read your CD. Good luck!

Are you writing to a re-writable disk? Normal CD-s can't read re-writable disks. Try writing to a normal write-once-only disk and your friend should be able to read it.
