Data on old HD data not recognized in USB 2.0 external enclosure

by noranor . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

When my motherboard died recently, I took out the main hard drive, and just installed it in an external enclosure after fixing the PC (new mobo and CPU) I’m using other internal hard drives in the PC(2). Device Manager says it’s working properly, and it got assigned a drive letter, but it does not read any data: Properties says 0 bytes.
My objective is to use my current Outlook Express on my internal hard drive to Import years of emails I really don’t want to lose from the now-external hd. Can anyone tell my how to make the data on the external hd visible and accessible so I can do it? I’m using XP Home Edition.
