dataCombo list items

Is there a way to make selected items in datacombo
invisible to the user. That is, if I have 10 items
in datacombo list and the user selects 1 I want to reduce the number to 9 and make the selected item unavailable to the user on the next go round.

Not with a bound control.
You would need to make an unbound combo. Create a record set, (or use the data control that you were using for the combo - but disconnect the combo from it), loop through the recordset, adding the items on each loop to thecombo with the Add method of the combo. When a user selects an item, just remove the item with the Remove method of the combo. The next question would be how to determine if the user has really selected it or not. He/she may have just made a mistakein the selection, which means you would need a refresh button to reload all values (or, if the person can only select one item, then if they decide to select another item, after this selection, the previous item is added back to the combo). If you are using the combo to allow the user to select several items, then it would be better to use 2 list boxes side by side with a left and right arrow in between, fill the left list with all fields, and allow the user to select/remove to/from the right list box.
