Date & Time of a motherboard

Why do i always have to enter the date & time in the sytem bios. Although the i replaced the battery of the motherboard. Please help me.

I would check and see if the battery contacts in the socket are clean and hold the battery tight.

Clean the contacts with a white or pink pencil eraser as needed. Whipe off the battery with a clean dry rag.

Bend the contacts slightly if they are not tight against the battery.

It is possible that you got a bad battery.

Make sure that when you reset the time in BIOS settings that you are saving the settings before exiting.

Another possibility is that your motherboard has a jumper for an external battery that is improperly configured. It is usually near the battery. See you reference manual for the exact location and proper seeting.

I removed the old battery and socket as well then replaced with a new one. then after i never have to enter the time and date again and it works perfect.
