DB Downgrade from SQL 2000 to SQL v7.0

By jaime.tolentino ·
I just recently upgraded my SQL v7.0 to SQL 2000. For 2 months, everything seems to be alright on the restoration side and databases users accesses. However, I was instructed to install back and return the database from SQL 2000 to SQL v7.0. Problemis will this work and how? What will be the best way to do this. Please help.
James.

Downgrading...

You can either use the vswitch option, or the utility under SQL 2000 to switch back. (hopefully you still have copies of the old database files)The only problem - you will be stuck with the image of the database as it was when you upgraded.
You canback up your 2000 database and put it on another server, then DTS the data over.

What a hassle!
It's MUCH easier to work out the problems they're having with 2000. There are a few little annoyances, but the performance gain has been something like 10 Times in many cases for us here at Thrifty Rent-A-Car.

Hope this helps you.
