By cheboisk ·
IAM TRYING TO INSTAL A THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE IN A LAPTOP RUNNING WINDOWS XP,BUT WHEN I TRY TO LAUNCH THE SOFTWARE, I GET THE FOLLOWING ERROR; " [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect0).]SQL SERVER DOES NOT EXIST OR ACCESS DENIED.--MICROSOFT OLE DB PROVIDER FOR SQL SERVER
[OK]"
BEFORE I GET THIS, A DOS WINDOW WITH THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE APPEARS;
"THE SERVICE NAME IS INVALID" NET HELPMSG 2185.
WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS?
i HAVE TRIED INSTALLING THE SAME SOFTWARE IN OTHER PCS/LAPTOPS, AND WORKS FINE.
ANY HELP?

Does the user have access to the SQL server database? It appears that connection is okay, but the user account is not properly authenticating.

When in doubt, call the software vendor.
