DCOM error message

By claude102 ·
I am currently running Win2K server. In my system log I keep getting a DCOM error message which is: "DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer (ComputerName) using any of the configured protocols".
This is happening to 3 computers in a computer lab which have printers attached to them and are shared on the network.
If anyone has any idea what to do???
Thank you for your help

Are you running internal DNS?

Ensure that the TCP/IP protocol is running and configured correctly on those machines.
I ran into a similar error with this network when i first came into it. I configured DNS internally and it helped with alot of the connectivity errors i was recieving.
Good Luck

This typically occurs when IIS is not available for the Com component to register itself with the IIS service. One option is to enable/install IIS or just ignore the error.
