Dear TR: Quit asking me to log in when I’m logged in.

It is getting pretty old at this point, and rather disruptive to be asked to log in when posting a comment, never knowing if there will be a page refresh that dumps everything in the text entry fields. It has happened, but didn’t happen this time, I’m happy to report. Because once that stupid floating login overlay appears, you can’t copy the text just in case.

I generally have a practice of composing items in a text editor due to the 50% reliability of websites, but generally not for short posts. Most people don’t do this at all, except those who like paste largely illegible swaths of text from MS Word.

At a guess, I don’t think visitors are going to continually lower the bar to what they find acceptable in a website, excepting, perhaps, the spammers. I keep imagining that I’m seeing some light at the end of the tunnel here, only to be proven wrong.

Now, if there is some sort of expiration for logins, or some trick where a visitor will be asked to log in again after a certain number of posts, please say so in some place where a person might find this information.

If this is some artifact of ongoing work, I’ll see how long I can bear with it, at least once more.
