Default computer font

By rgmillion ·
Somehow I lost the default font for my computer. I understand it may be the Tahoma font but I have no idea how to restore it. Can you help me.

Thank you,

Pull out the windows disk and copy the fonts file back.
Or, do a windows repair from the original cd
Or, copy the fonts from another system, if you know the fonts that you are looking for you can put them on a floppy disk, or else I would suggest a cd

Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition (SE)
Insert the Windows 98 compact disc into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type command, and then click OK.
At the command prompt, type Extract /a /e drive:\Win98\Win98_22.cab *.ttf /l C:\Windows\NewFonts (where drive is the drive letter of your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive), and then press ENTER.

For example:
Extract /a /e \Win98\Win98_22.cab *.ttf /l C:\Windows\NewFonts <ENTER>

The font files are extracted.

NOTE: In the preceding command, l is a lowercase L.
Type Extract /a /e drive:\Win98\Win98_22.cab *.fon /l C:\Windows\NewFonts, and the press ENTER.

The font files are extracted.
Type Extract /a /e drive:\Win98\Win98_22.cab Desktop.ini /l C:\Windows\NewFonts, and the press ENTER.

The Desktop.ini file is extracted.
Type Exit.
