Default Domain Policy

By ecthelion ·
On a lab network I set up Windows 2000 Server and a client. I went to Active Directory Users and Groups. I right clicked the domain name then clicked properties to get to the default domain policy. I configured password policies on it. Then logged off. When I log back on, those policies I set are not enforced. It will not make me redo my password to comply with complexity for instance. What am I doing wrong? It is very frustrating.

Password policy changes are enforced on your next password change not on your next logon.

Make sure your policies are replicated, then reboot and try to change your password. You will see that now the new password policies are enforced.

you need to do a gpupdate /force then a reboot should synch everything up.
