Default Printer Applet

By david ·
Does anyone know of an applet that will change the default printer without opening the printers folder? I sometimes get OS hang after I try to chang a default printer after moving from one network to another (I have a laptop).

PS> I think this was covered in a w2k tech email, but I can't find the thing.

Default Printer Applet

The best solution for your request would be using hardware profiles. Create one profile with the printer you use in one network. Don't specify (install) another printer that you don't use in this network. Give some convinient name for this pfofile. Create another profile with another printer you use in another network. When booting you'll be asked to select the necessary hardware profile, so select the one depending on the network you're connected to. This will automatically set the necessary default printer. Hope this will solve your problem.
