Default Settings for HP670C printer

By keyur ·
I have hp670c deskjet printer. OS I work on is win-xp. While i fire print from my pc, the default properties of printer is "Normal" and "Print in Colour". Even if i print plain black text from word file, the output is too slow and black colour printed with combining colours. This seems to be a bug in printer driver shipped alongwith XP. Let me know how to set default property of printer to "Draft" mode and print option "Black & White". As with manual selection of these options, printing works ok.

Default Settings for HP670C printer

Sorry, your best option is to get a newer printer.

The default XP drivers allow 'legacy' printers to 'function', but that is about it.

Many higher functions and options are not supported under XP.

Basically, most printer and scanner manufactures could not afford to create XP version drivers for all the printers that are still in use.
So, Microsoft created 'generic' legacy drivers for these older printers.

Since HP does not offer a XP driver, your best option is to get a newer printer with full XP support.

Alternately, you can try installing the W2K driver as that may work fine, and allow you to access the higher functions.
