Default website for IE

By courtney ·
I have a network with IE 5.5 or 6.o installed. Is there a way that I can make every bodies IE home page be the company intranet or etc. And not let them change it?

Default website for IE

In the Registry, there is an entry at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
The entry you are looking for is called StartPage. This is the default home page used in IE.
So, what you can do is create a .REG file with this path, and have StartPage = whatever home page you want all of your users to use.
Then, if you run logon scripts when your users log in, you can push this REG file onto their systems. This way, no matter what the user set their default page to, the logon script will overwrite it with your entry.
Your logon scripts would have the following line:
REGEDIT /S yourfile.REG
Where the .REG file is kept in the same folder on the domain controllers as the logon scripts are.

hope this helps
