Defaults in Word/Windows

By keepbelieving ·
Greetings,
Is there a way to change the Font, color and size of text in Word so that when you launch Word your selection comes up as the default?
The normal default is (Size 10/Font Times Roman Numeral/Color Black).

Also, how do you change the size of your screen layout(if possible)...example- my screen view used to be small to medium...Well now everything appears large. Is it possible to change that?

Sincerely,

Feeling helpless

1. If your document already contains text formatted with the properties you want to use, select that text.

2. On the Format menu, click Font.

3. Select the options you want to apply to the default font. If you selected text in step 1, the properties of that text will appear in the dialog box.

4. Click Default. Any new document you open will use the font settings you selected.

Don't understand what you mean by the second part of your question. Which version of MS Word are you using?

If you can add a comment to your original question, I could help you further.

The first 4 steps applies to Word XP // I do have access to other versions of Word as well.

Right click the Desktop and choose Properties.
You can change the resolution on the Settings tab

Try this,
All your default settings are stored in a Word template called NORMAL.DOT. If you search your hard drive for this file, it'll probably list more than one copy of it (i.e. one for each user profile plus the default profile). Now that youknow where the file is located, start Word. You should get an empty document, close this documet but keep Word running. Next, click FILE -> OPEN and navigate to the NORMAL.DOT copy that you want to customize and click OPEN. Now customize the font, colors, etc. The last step would be to save the file. Now, any new document in Word will have that default formating.

Cheers!
