Delay Writing over the Network on WinXP

By MattIT ·
We have been having troubles in my company with write delaying from one of our workstations to a network drive. We feel that if we can simply disable delayed writing on the network drive, it wouuld solve the problem. We can find changing the settings for local machines, but I are unable to find a solution for network drives. If anyone can help it'd be greatly appreciated.

I agree with Khalid, make sure the link speed and duplexing on the nic and switch are correct (that the link doesn't keep going up and down, excessive CRC errors, etc.).

turn it off on the physical drive on the server?
since this is just one workstation my kneejerk response is you have file locking problem or something caused by badly behaving old application maybe. is this user using some programs that the others don't use? can you prove the problem goes away if the user uses the local drive only (copying stuff over the from the server) for a day or so for a test?
exactly what kind of 'troubles' i wonder. File system errors, presumably. anything in the event logs on server or client?
wonder if this is a mapped drive?
