some times you have to go back to the same website and uninstall from there. Usually shown in small writing the word "Uninstall".Otherwise you have to go into the registery and delete all entries to do with that software. Only go there if you know what you are doing, and before you do anything backup the registery.

Probably still hooked to a running process or application.

Try deleting in safe mode first. That works in many cases. Otherwise, you will need to find process or application associated with files in folder and stop it from running.

What is the specific program you downloaded and what message do you get when you try to delete it? I agree with the first 2 answers that more than likely there is a program or service running which is preventing you from deleting all of the files in the directory. You don't say what os you are using but if you are not on an ntfs system you could boot with a bootdisk and delete the directory from dos. This can, however, cause problems if the service is set to run on startup and is not present. Post back with more details regarding your os, the downloaded program and any error messages you receive.

Cheers.

I would do both of the above. Try Safe Mode first and see if it can be deleted. If you are going to edit the registry, back it up first. When you get into the registry, use ctrl + f and a search box will come up. Enter CM Disc Cleaner, CM, or a variation. If one comes up, delete the string, then press F3 to continue. Keep going until there are no more results. Also, some uninstalls for programs are labelled as "Unwise".

Some of these things have to be deleted by booting to dos.

What OS and what is the name of the folder.
