Delegation of administration

By k4k ·
In a file server which is in Win 2000 Domain , i have situation where in i get lots of request for creating shared folders on regular basis.

i want to off-load this task to novice junior admins. but at the same time i can't risk giving them a admin access . i want to delegate this team only to create a shared folders on file servers & apply permissions to it. they should not be able to access active directory & do any other administrative activities in domain.

suggestions highly appreciated

Thanks in advance

You need to do this on the server using NTFS permissions NOT the domain, you give them full control of the areas of the disks to create folders and shares.

If you don't do it viaq NTFS permissions on the local disk, you will need a security management product which integrates with Active Directory like Quest ActiveRoles Server.
