Deleted files

By daniel ·
A user accidentally deleted a folder from a network share on the fileserver, and when I attempted to restore the folder from backup, the DLT tape drive stopped working. Until we receive the replacement, I need to restore that folder. Where would the deleted folder be stored? I checked both the fileserver and the user's desktop recycle bin, but could not locate the deleted folder.

Thanks,
Dan

Sorry, when you delete anything across the network under Windows, it's not stored anywhere.

You may be able to retrieve the files and folder back by using some undelete software, do a google.com search however you need to get software that reads NTFS.

I use Ontrack easy recovery professional for these tasks.. Works very good and accurate.

Seemed like decent recovery software, although doesn't work with a hardware Raid5 configuration.
