Deleting a user, XP Home Edition

By supz ·
Hello. For some reason, whenever I go to delete a user on XP Home Edition on my Dell (purchased 1-2003) the program that deletes the user automatically freezes, causing the user to be undeletable. I am trying to delete my name from my wife's account, but when it asked me for login names I put my name as #1 and hers as #2, although we both have the same level of access, "Computer Administrator". Anyone else have this problem? Know of something I am doing wrong? Know of a fix? please post a reply! Thanks!!!

You can remove the user accounts from the Control Panel. You cannot delete the profile of the person who is logged in at the time. How are you trying to do this?

What you need to first is log on to the user that you are not going to delete. Once you have done that click on START, then CONTROL PANEL, then USER ACCOUNTS. Once you are there, click on the user you want to delete and then it should be smooth sailing from there. Hope it works.
