Deleting huge amounts of files?

By Areon3363 ·
Okay, so I was trying to render a map of my minecraft world and after it finished, I still had all the picture files in a folder. There were over 2 million files in the folder and I was able to move it to the recycle bin. Now though, it doesn't want to delete anything. It just freezes up the computer. Is there an easier way to delete this because I fear I might have to do a system restore.

I have a vista 32-bit, 3gb ram, radeon hd 5770. Athelon 64 X2

Why move it to the Recycle Bin in the first place?

Just delete them. (Shift+Del)

You can try deleting them from the Bin by selecting groups of files, then hit Del.

You can try restoring them from the Bin and then deleting. Or, make sure you have enough memory freed up for the operation, i.e., turn off any applications you can, including those running in the background.

Never mind, I found a way. I used a recovery cd and then the repair function to access a command prompt is dos and used that to go and delete the files. Thanks anyways but it was just too big to do while windows was running. I don't think it was made to delete that many files at the same time.
