Deleting old Calendar appointments

By Charl ·
Is there an easy way to delete all my old appointments for the last 1.5 years without having to go day by day and manually delete each one?

Thanks
Charl

Assuming Outlook calendar -

On the Advanced toolbar (View>Toolbars) change the view to something like categories.
Click on one of the Date headings (Start or End) to sort in ascending or descending order. Drag to select the old entries and hitdelete on the keyboard.

Thanks, I figured it out exactly as you described just as the message arrived, I did not expect to get an answer this quick. You get the points.

Also assuming Outlook, you can also use the Autoarchive feature to either delete them or move them into an archive.

First you have to turn Autoarchive on in Outlook. Select Tools, Options, and then select the Other tab. Click on the Autoarchive button and set whatever options you would like for frequency of autoarchiving, etc.

Then right click on your calendar icon and select properties. On the autoarchive tab, you can set options to clean out old items and you can specify how old items need to be before they get archived.

This procedure is a little more involved than the first answer, but you'll only need to set the options once, and then it will happen automatically from that point forward.

Interesting feature, but does not apply to me. I'm using Outlook, but with the corporate workgroup option, and the Exchange server client, not personal folders. I got the following directly from the Outlook help:

There is a difference between exporting and archiving. When you archive, the original items are copied to the archive file, and then removed from the current folder. When you export, the original items are copied to the export file, but are not removed from the current folder. In addition, you can only archive one file type, a personal folder file, but you can export many file types.

Thanks anyway, I appreciate any help. I understand I may not have given enough details.
